Sales Distribution Specialist

SUMMARY: Sales Reps are responsible for direct sales efforts with existing accounts, and for identifying other sales opportunities with new accounts. Must be detail oriented, organized, and possess the ability to work as part of a team, efficiently, and to be pro-active.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:· Establish and maintain a continuing relationship with existing accounts within an assigned area.· Expand sales/business opportunities with existing accounts.· Identify strategic growth opportunities within the industry and make “cold” calls · Provide regular feedback and reports regarding the account base.· Participate & actively use CRM system & follow up on marketing generated leads· Prepare and conduct professional sales presentations.· Forecast sales when requested and report as necessary on territory opportunities· Participate in trade shows, including assisting in set-ups, tear-downs and lead generation· Launch new products, as directed within a given territory/customer.· Attend conferences and trade shows for maximum exposure of company product and capabilities.· Stay informed of changes in the industry, including trends, new products and changes in regulations.· Troubleshoot issue to a successful resolution for the customer.· Timely preparation and reporting of monthly expenses and automobile mileage as required.· Responsible for properly maintaining personal vehicle used for company business.· Perform other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE:College Degree or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two or more years of selling experience; preferably in the distribution industry.The incumbent must be able to maintain complete confidentiality of any information s/he encounters and willing to accept restrictive covenants.PERSONAL TRAITS:Excellent communicator with positive attitude and energy. A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player. Ability to use Email and Internet.An experienced sales professional who is energetic, forward-thinking and self-assured with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image. Experience with public speaking a definite asset.Embodies company values· Must be self-starting and able to bring projects to completion without constant oversight. COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be capable of being trained to operate a computer including the software necessary for the duties of the job. In addition, the ability to use and operate standard office equipment, such as a copier, fax machine, personal data assistant and calculator etc. and other duties listed in the earlier list of job duties, such as operating a vehicle. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to be exposed to an indoor office environment and outdoor environment, therefore, there are times that the employee would be exposed to extreme weather conditions, or extreme conditions such as humidity, and cold or heat when on the road traveling to customers and/or in warehouses. Other times, the employee will be in the office processing paperwork, etc. The employee will rarely be working in high places, or be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, explosives, radiation, vibration or toxic or caustic chemicals. There may rarely be a risk of electrical shock when dealing with office equipment cords, etc. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. TRAVEL: Work requires travel on a regular basis. Must be willing to travel to all facilities and customer sites and be able to drive.
